Times Linux is a completely redeveloped BackTrack Linux, fully following the standard Debian development. All new infrastructure has been put in one place, all tools have been reviewed and packaged, and we use Git for its VCS.

1. Over 300 penetration testing tools: After reviewing every tool found in BackTrack, we eliminated large amounts of tools that either did not work or had tools available that provided similar functionality.
2. Free and will always be free: Times Linux, like its predecessor, is completely free and will always be free. You will never be asked to pay for Linux Times.
3. Open source Git tree: We strongly support open source software and development tree Available to everyone who wants to see it, and all sources are available for those who want to change and rebuild the entire package.
4. Following FHS compliant: Times have been developed to comply with FHS (Filesystem Hierarchy Standard), which allows all Linux users to easily search for binary files, support files, libraries, and more.
5. Extensive wireless device support: We have built Linux Times to support as many Wireless devices as we can, allowing it to run well on various hardware and compatible with various USB and other wireless devices.
6. Modified patch kernel for injection: As a penetration tester, our team often needs to do wireless assessments so our kernel has the latest patch injection.
7. Safe development environment: Times Linux team consists of a group of trusted people who can only commit packets and interact with the repository while using some secure protocol.
8. GPG marks multiple packets and repos: All Kali packets are marked by each individual developer when the packets are created and committed, then the repositories mark the packets.
9. Many languages: Although penetration testing tools tend to be written in English, we have made sure that Kali Linux has multiple language support, allowing more users to operate it in their language and find the tools they need for the job.
10. Completely revamped: We fully understand that not everyone will agree with our design decisions so we've made it as easy as possible for experienced users to change Linux Times as they see fit.
11. Supporting ARMEL and ARMHF: Since ARM-based systems are becoming more common and inexpensive, we know that ARM Kali Linux support will be as powerful as we can manage, so installations can work for both ARMEL & ARMHF systems. Times Linux has an ARM repository integrated with major distribution channels so tools for ARM will be updated in conjunction with the rest of the distribution.
